The European Union’s digital strategy has shifted from isolated regulatory interventions to a dense matrix of cross-sectoral laws. Organizations attempting to navigate digital transformation now face a multi-layered compliance burden: the GDPR (data privacy), the AI Act (algorithmic safety and transparency), the Cyber Resilience Act (hardware and software security by design), and the NIS2 Directive (infrastructure resilience).

While each framework pursues specific policy objectives, in practice, they constantly overlap, conflict, and intersect. This webinar breaks down the legal and operational friction points among these four pillars. Instead of analyzing each law in a silo, this session offers a systemic, cross-regulatory perspective on how these frameworks interact in real-world deployments—from incident reporting overlaps and training data governance to executive liability and joint enforcement mechanisms.

Why you should attend?

By attending this seminar, participants will:

  • Unpick the “EU Regulatory Matrix”: Map out the precise intersection points where the GDPR, AI Act, CRA, and NIS2 overlap, identifying potential compliance conflicts.

Who should attend?

This seminar is designed for professionals navigating cross-border cybersecurity regulations and EU compliance:

  • Legal Practitioners & In-House Counsel: Corporate lawyers, regulatory specialists, and legal tech advisors managing cross-disciplinary compliance strategies.
  • Data Protection Officers (DPOs) & Privacy Professionals: DPOs looking to expand their oversight to cover AI governance and cybersecurity interactions.
  • CISOs, CROS & Security Directors: IT security leaders needing to reconcile operational cybersecurity mandates (NIS2/CRA) with data governance and AI risk assessments.

This workshop is part of the DETANGLE Workshop Series “Untangling EU Cybersecurity Regulations” which brings together legal, cybersecurity, compliance and policy perspectives to examine how European legislation translates into national requirements and organisational responsibilities. Three online workshops will explore the complexities of EU cybersecurity legislation, from NIS2 implementation across Member States to the interaction of European digital regulations and national enforcement practices. The third workshop is scheduled for 10 December.

If you have missed the previous workshop or you wish to know more about the EU legislation, please visit the official website of the DETANGLE project: www.detangleproject.eu

The project funded under Grant Agreement No. 101249446 is supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.
